Outfit Details:
dress: NY Collection via Macy's
shoes: Talbots
cross-body: Danielle Nicole via HauteLook

I got this dress a bit ago, as part of making my personal style a bit more defined. I have so many varied styles that I like, I decided last year, in an effort to clear out the clutter, that I would also try to only purchase items that I knew I would love to wear and not just think, I would maybe wear them. This has really helped me to clean out unworn and over-worn items from my closet. All of this will also help with my move coming later this year!

This piece was part of a bunch of pieces I found at Macy's and was probably the piece I was most excited about. It is that perfect combo of comfortable looseness and a boho look with a 30's drop waist silhouette. This is one of the avenues my personal style likes to take-- that boho chic look. One thing that is great about this dress is that yes, it could do that boho look, especially if I paired it with some boots/booties and a cute floppy hat and some long necklaces; but here I have actually gone more towards the 30's look and taken advantage of the drop waist look. And by pairing it with my low Mary Jane styled Talbots heels it completed the look perfectly.

To sum things up, I have been trying to replace non-versatile pieces with versatile pieces that I know I will get more wear out of without forcing the look.

Anyone else going through this process?

Olive Green Wool Skirt

Outfit Details:
sweater: Forever 21 via Do You...Deja Vu Boutique
belt: vintage
skirt: vintage via Do You... Deja Vu Boutique
heels: Kenneth Cole New York via DSW
haircut, color and style done at Iva Bella Salon

This is an  old shoot from the archives that I had forgotten about. I took these photos on Thanksgiving, the day after I had gotten my hair done at Iva Bella by my amazing friend James Cornwell. I am still obsessed with my hair and it is so nice that he colored it in a way that I don't have to get my roots touched up every month! I am definitely a low maintenance person when it comes to my hair.

For this outfit I paired this vintage skirt with my awesome scottie dog printed sweater and to define my waist I used my wide patent leather belt to cinch things in!

If you need to get your hair done go check out Iva Bella Salon ... trust me you will not be sorry you made the trip there!

My leather jacket is one of my favorite and most used purchases of all time! Here I just paired it with a sweater and my boyfriend jeans for an uber casual outfit.

Another Work Outfit

Outfit Details:
top: unknown
pants: via Kohl's
heels: Talbots
bag: Danielle Nicole via HauteLook
jewelry: vintage and Olytata

By now I am sure most of you have gone back to work after the nice break that the holidays bring. However last month was pretty busy for me, so I am taking this time to recollect and reorganize my life (gotta start on those taxes). So I am going to take January to work a little bit, when a job pops up, but I am not going to try and fill up my schedule to the gills! I am going to work on finishing projects that have been started and unfinished for months and years and to give a little TLC to this blog and the behind the scenes work of my business.

So, I guess in the end I am going to be filling my schedule with work, but I am going to be doing it at a nice leisurely pace, so I can reduce stress and work on some final steps in my wedding planning! Eeks it is in 9 months!!

So stay tuned for some great things coming to Lipstick & Chiffon this year! Fun interviews with beauty and wellness professionals to help get yourself pampered and energized; also more wedding planning news and of course some awesome outfit posts and amazing makeup tutorials!!!

Stay warm and take some time for yourself so the winter doesn't get you down!!
