Lost River Bed & Breakfast in WV

Jon and I went on a lovely mini- vacay to Lost River, West Virginia. We stayed at the Lost River Bed and Breakfast which is part of the Lost River Inn and the Lost River Grill. We found it through a Living social deal, and are so glad we snatched it up!!

The only hiccup was that the weather decided to snow a ton the night before we went, but it didn't deter us at all! The roads were cleared off for the most part and when we left in the morning and the snow hadn't stuck too much to the roads. The nice part about the snow is that it kept everyone else away because when we got there we had the place to ourselves, which was wonderful in my book! It also showed the property in a beautiful winter wonderland.

Everyone we met was extremely nice and welcoming at the B & B and we even got a bottle of wine with our package! The only place to eat was the Lost River Grill. Trust me that was totally fine with us! The food was so delicious!!! The only complaint I have is about the meatloaf, which I was initially so excited about because that is one of my favorite dishes! I'm sure most people would have liked it, but it was too sweet for me and had too much ketchup or bbq sauce on it. I prefer to make my meatloaf with mustard, to give it an even better savory taste. So that is just a personal preference on my part. Jon loved the fried chicken he got one night a the burger he got the next night. We both got wings one night and those were absolutely amazing!!! I had chicken piccata the first night (random I know) and it was so delish! As you can see the food was one of the main highlights of the trip as well as the fact that we .....

Got Engaged too! It was kind of a surprise and so sweet! We are so happy and I can't wait to share my planning adventure with you here!!

So if you are looking for a low key vacay and aren't afraid of being around nature head on over to the Lost River B&B for a mini getaway!
