Who's That Girl?

Who's that girl?! Oh hey its me!

Here is a major tbt! These are from one of the shoots I did back right after I graduated high school while I was trying to get into modeling and with Cleri Model Management. Obviously the job choice didn't work out for various reasons, but hey its fun to look back at these an reminisce. I mean who doesn't love looking back a past photos and thinking 'dayuumm I looked pretty good' .

By the way I still have that blue and black dress, it is that perfect dress to wear when I have no desire to wear anything else in my closet. The perfect back up! Those leopard print shoes were my perfect first pair of Leopard print heels, which I only recently had to retire if you remember that blog post. They lasted me through the end of high school and all through college.

p.s. that is my natural hair color! Crazy!!

On a Rooftop with a Flowercrown

Outfit Details:

flower crown: Made by me
poncho: thrifted
cover up/dress: Elif for Jordan Taylor (c/o)
shoes: Aldo
bracelet: Bauble Bar (similar)
rings: Nordstrom  and Charming Charlie (similar)

The other week I made a trip to Brooklyn to  work with the amazing photographer Brittanny Taylor, as well as getting to work with Rachel Lynch of I Hate Blonde and Maeve, a model from Images Management NYC. They were all so wonderful and I can't wait to work with them again in the future!

So as you know I live in Virginia and this was up and back in one day kind of trip because I had work the next day. What a whirlwind! Before I left in the morning I made this flower crown with some of the left over flowers I had from a shoot over the weekend and a fun project with my cousin's adorable kiddos. I think it turned out quite well, if I do say so myself!

As for the cover up, I received this from Jordan Taylor a while back and was trying to figure out how to wear it so that I didn't look like a cow. As well as try to make it just a bit modest, so that it can be worn for more occasions than just around the beach. So I loosened the straps to have it hang longer and then donned this crocheted poncho that I got from a thrift store! It covers the parts that I want hidden, but doesn't make it too frumpy!

I paired these wedge mary janes from Aldo with it for a boho chic vibe and added the gold accessories for a touch of class.

Style Inspiration: Magazine Tear Sheets

Yes I still get actual magazines in the mail. I have always loved to feel those glossy pages in my hands and loved to pour over them taking in all of the beautiful colors and textures that fill their pages.

Before Pinterest, I would tear out the pages that either inspired me or just looked frickin' cool. I still do this actually, and I keep binders full of my favorite tear sheets. They are so fun to look through, especially the ones I have from 10 or so years ago. Whenever I feel lacking in inspiration for either a photoshoot or a blog post I just look through them and always get a bolt of inspiration! If you ever find you run into this problem try it, trust me it helps a lot!

How do you all feel about having the actual magazine instead of just reading it online?

Retro Florals

Outfit Details:
top: Asos (on sale too!)
skirt: French Connection via Thred Up c/o
sunglasses: Express (similar)
necklace, bracelets and earrings: c/o J'adorn Designs
clutch: Vintage borrowed from Ali

Here is another look from my fun shoot I did with Ali from J'adorn Designs. The necklace she paired with with outfit it one of my faves because it is delicate and fun at the same time!

I chose one of my Asos crop tops to pair with this high waisted skirt I got from Thred up (check out my post about them here). This outfit formula has to be one of my favorites as you know from Stripes on the Beach. It was a comfortable pairing and didn't add a lot of weight since it was a pretty hot day. Also the shoes from Nordstrom Rack are so so comfortable! I got them for a photo shoot and ended up keeping them..ooops!

Do you have a favorite pair of nude heeled sandals to enhance your summer wardrobe?
