Hey everyone, meet Phoebe! She is the new little addition to my family and I absolutely love her!
Almost 2 weeks ago I went to the Prince William County Animal Shelter because they were having an Adopt-a-Thon. Both of my jobs that weekend brought me that way so I saw the sign on the way there and back, I figured it was the universe telling me I needed to check it out! After the morning shoot, I went with my Mom to check out who was left on Sunday, the last day, and we found a great dog, Dove, but we had to get the okay from my dad (since I am living at home). And once we did we called back and she was being adopted right at that moment. I was really sad, but glad at the same time because at least she was going to a good home and that is all that really matters.
I had seen Phoebe (then Jackie) when we first went and thought she was so adorable and sweet, but I had been set originally on a bigger dog, so that is why she wasn't originally my first choice. After that whole ordeal I had another shoot to go to that day, which helped me to get over not getting Dove. But of course I still wanted to go back to the Shelter to see if there was anyone else that was meant to be my little munchkin.
After the shoot we sped over there, my mom, sister and I, to have just one last look. We walked around and there Phoebe was jumping up so that we would notice her. She was so sweet and just wanted lots of love! We got to take her out and cuddle with her a bit and she just loved us so much. So the next step was decision time....Was she really a good match for my family and I? Would she and Bryan get a long? Eventually when I move out would she be a good apartment dog?
The answer to all of those questions was YES! So I took a chance on Phoebe and I am so glad I did! She needed a good home and some great love and that is what I am going to give her. She may be a little older and a bit blind in one eye but she is absolutely perfect in every way possible!
So if you are looking for a great addition to your family go and rescue someone who needs some love!
