The other day while at work I was helping a woman try on a few different products. She asked to try Dior's white eyeliner, and what she did with it next both horrified and surprised me. Okay so it isn't actually as bad as I am making it out to be, but the force that this woman applied this liner on her lid made my eyelids hurt! What was surprising was how good it looked. I had always used white eyeliner on my lower lash line to brighten my eyes, but had never thought to use it above my upper lash line (as you can see in the photo).
So the other day I decided why not try it! It looked great on her so what did I have to lose. It also gave me a chance to try a loose shadow that Sugarpill Cosmetics sampled me with my last purchase from them. It is Magentric, a lovely pink color that doesn't make my eyes look tired (which certain pinks tend to do). After I applied Magentric, I gently applied the white liner above my lash line. Try to choose a liner that is softer so that you do not tug at your lid.
To add a bit of contrast in the crease I slightly dusted on a sparkly grey, from my Dior palette 051 (shown below). I love how the combination of pink with black or grey turns into a slight purple! Isn't it amazing how layering colors can create new colors! Okay nerd moment over, I just love art!
So to me the white liner gave the look a softer appearance, while also drawing the eye straight to my eye makeup, the center of attention in this look.
How do you wear your white eyeliner?
